When Me and My Date went to a Road Trip

When I walked into the crowded cafe, I recognized him as the guy we had chatted online. With his endearing smile and sharp comebacks, he appeared flawless. Our conversations clicked right away and flowed like a beautiful tune.

Weeks passed, and I was still fascinated with his magnetism. But little by little, flaws started to appear. Regarding his past, he was unclear and his emotions were artificial. ignoring my intuition, I ignored the discomfort, holding fast to the idealized vision I had made up.

When he suggested taking a last-minute romantic road trip one evening, I was both excited and hesitant.

As night fell in the far-off forest among the tall trees, I couldn't get rid of the uneasy feeling I had. His demeanor became unpleasant and the atmosphere strained. I forced myself to face him and ask, "Why did you bring me here? Is there anything unique about this location?" Excepting a romantic answer from him...

Smiling twistedly, he replied, "Oh, sweetheart, this place is special because you're not the first one here." I felt a shiver run down my spine as his words hung in the air.

My voice became more desperate as I questioned, "What do you mean? To you, am I simply another person?" His cold laugh reverberated through the forest. "You see, some people find this forest enchanting, but not everyone leaves."

His weird touches and cryptic remarks drove additional chips away at the romantic façade. I came to see that I was caught up in a web of lies, with a complete stranger who considered me as just one more episode in an unsettling story.

Frightened, I broke free and fled into the night. He flew after me. I was running, running and running.... telling myself not to look behind...The forest, which had once represented romantic adventure, had turned into a dangerous maze.

I could still hear the eerie echoes of that night as I regained my breath in the security of dawn. The mysterious information he disclosed brought to light the fallibility of believing appearances. It served as a terrifying reminder that occasionally there is darkness hiding beneath the pretty appearance. The wounds that were left behind were more than just physical; they were a continual reminder to look past appearances and believe in your gut feelings when they have the power to save lives.... Always remember; gut feeling is guardian angel.
