A story : An event I encountered as a child

One summer night when I was a little child and we were living in the peaceful suburbs, a strange thing happened that I will never forget.

I used to sneak out into the backyard and set up a makeshift camp with a flashlight and blanket. The air had a strange quiet to it one night when I was lying there. The globe appeared to be holding its breath.

Suddenly, there was a gentle glow by the old oak tree. I initially believed it was a firefly until it developed into a soft glow that lit the grass beneath its imperceptible touch. I stepped closer, a little terrified yet intrigued.

I was shocked to see that the illumination took the form of a translucent, shimmering, ethereal entity. With eyes that carried wisdom beyond appearance, it gazed at me. I felt a weird tranquility replace my initial panic as we came to a quiet accord.

The enigmatic stranger motioned for me to follow, and together we set off to explore the moonlit garden. Time seemed to have stopped, as the real world vanished into a surreal realm.

When we reached the ancient oak tree, the stranger indicated its twisted trunk. The bark gave the impression of ripples, revealing glimpses of bygone eras: kids playing, families enjoying a picnic, and even a couple etching their initials.

The stranger gave me one more nod before disappearing into the darkness, leaving me standing by the oak tree with the light beginning to fade. I questioned whether it was all a dream the next morning, but the memory of the nocturnal visitor stayed with me, whispering of the enchantment woven into the nights of my boyhood....
